Description

Scott Bader Crystic 2.446PALV White Polyester Resin is a pre-accelerated, thixotropic, low-viscosity essential that's specially formulated for fibreglass moulds and mouldings to minimise print-through and deliver a superior surface finish. Often used as the final laminate layer before applying very light-coloured topcoats, its rapid wet-out, low exotherm, and fast hardening properties make it ideal for applications requiring a quick mould turnaround without sacrificing finish quality.

Widely recognised across industries, Scott Bader Crystic 2.446PALV Resin is extensively used in boat building, composite manufacturing and fibreglass flat roofing. Its Lloyd’s Register of Shipping and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) approvals confirm its suitability for professional marine applications, providing confidence in both safety and performance. The resin delivers consistent, high-quality results, ensuring strong laminates with a smooth surface finish. It's also easy to handle with low styrene emissions, making this resin safer and cleaner by reducing harmful vapours, improving air quality and supporting environmental compliance.

Crystic 2.446PALV works effectively with Chopped Strand Matting, Woven Fabrics, and Biaxial Mattings to produce durable, reinforced composites. When used with Catalyst M (Butanox M50) at 1–2%, the resin achieves an approximate pot life of 35 minutes at 20°C, giving a practical working window for efficient lay-up. (Please note: catalyst is not supplied with the 225kg and 1100kg resin sizes.)

Is the cured resin ok with diesel fuel. I need to seal the inside of a steel tank which will be very thoroughly cleaned. I anticipate 3 days curing in warm environment. Many thanks
Hi Simon. So sorry this has taken so long to answer. Please do not use general purpose as this will erode in ni time at all. The product you need is RTS 3000 as this is a proper tank sealer.
Does the value 5kg resin come with catalyst and any measuring syringe...for accurate mix?
Hi Yagesh. Yes it does come with a catalyst but no syringe.
