Description

The Scott Bader Crystic 2.446PALV Resin is a pre-accelerated, thixotropic, low-viscosity polyester resin used in boat building, composite manufacturing and fibreglass flat roofing. Engineered for excellent performance, it offers rapid wet-out, low exotherm and fast hardening properties with low styrene emissions, making it an outstanding choice for applications that demand a quick mould turnaround without compromising quality.

For best results, this resin can be combined with Chopped Strand Matting, Woven Fabrics, or Biaxial Mattings to achieve reinforced, high-strength laminates. A built-in colour-change mechanism simplifies application, visibly shifting from blue to green and finally to yellowish before gelation, confirming catalyst activation.

Widely trusted across industries, Crystic 2.446PALV has proven reliability backed by approvals from both Lloyd’s Register of Shipping and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) for use in the construction of craft under their survey. This certification ensures confidence for professional marine and industrial applications where strength and safety are essential.

When used with Catalyst M (Butanox M50) at 1–2%, Crystic 2.446PALV achieves a pot life of around 35 minutes at 20°C, providing a practical working window for efficient lay-up.

  • Pre-accelerated, low-viscosity resin: Easy to handle with low styrene emissions
  • Rapid wet-out & fast cure: Ideal for quick mould turnaround
  • Lloyd’s Register & DNV approved: Trusted for marine and industrial applications
  • Versatile use: Boat building, composites, and fibreglass flat roofing
  • Reinforced strength: Works with CSM, woven fabrics, and biaxial mattings
  • Colour-change indicator: Clear visual confirmation of catalyst activation
  • 35-minute pot life at 20°C: Reliable curing control with Catalyst M (Butanox M50)
  • Sizes available: 1kg, 2.5kg, 5kg, 10kg, 20kg, 225kg, 225kg (No Catalyst), 1100kg (No Catalyst)
