Description

Crestomer 1196PA Structural Gap-Filling Core Adhesive is ideal for use in sandwich construction, a lightweight structural construction method using a core material bonded between composite skins, where you need a strong, robust, highly impact-resistant structure. Ideal for balsa, marine ply, GRP/FRP, DCPD, vinyl ester and stainless steel substrates while also being non-sagging on vertical surfaces.

It works by forming a low-density, highly toughened urethane acrylate bond that structurally joins suitable core materials to cured or semi-cured composite skins. Its high elongation, impact resistance and thixotropic, non-sag formulation allow it to fill gaps and accommodate movement while maintaining strong, durable adhesion in sandwich construction applications.

Crestomer 1196PA provides a far tougher bond than polyester resin laminates or traditional polyester bonding adhesives, and offers significant weight savings, reduced styrene emissions and greatly improved cosmetics with the elimination of core print through.

Recommended substrates include balsa, marine ply, GRP/FRP, DCPD, vinyl ester and stainless steel.

Formulated to bond core materials like rigid PVC foam and balsa to cured or semi-cured FRP skins.

  • Structural gap-filling core adhesive
  • Designed for sandwich construction
  • Exceptional impact strength & toughness
