Description

Scott Bader Crystic 474PA is a thixotropic, pre-accelerated orthophthalic polyester resin designed for use in applications where heat and chemical resistance are essential. Its advanced formulation provides durability and stability, making it a trusted choice across industries that require reliable performance in challenging environments.

Developed for the chemical industry, Crystic 474PA is particularly suitable for the construction of tanks, pipes, and fumestacks that must withstand both heat and chemical exposure. Beyond industrial applications, this versatile resin is also ideal for fabricating heat-resistant, dimensionally stable moulds used in cold and heat-assisted contact moulding as well as hot press moulding processes. Its adaptability makes it suitable for both traditional hand lay-up and automated manufacturing techniques such as pultrusion.

For best results, Crystic 474PA should be brought to workshop temperature (18°C–20°C) before use. It requires only the addition of Catalyst M (Butanox M50) at 2%, thoroughly mixed shortly before application. To maintain product quality, store in a dark, cool environment below 20°C where possible, not exceeding 30°C, and only open containers immediately prior to use. Supplied with catalyst included, this resin provides a complete and practical solution for professionals requiring high-performance laminating resin.
