Description

Scott Bader's Cobalt Accelerator G is a high-quality accelerator formulated to optimise curing times in polyester resins, gelcoats, and topcoats. Supplied in a 4kg container, this accelerator is particularly valuable in colder conditions, where resins can cure too slowly without additional support.

Ideal for cold and challenging conditions, Cobalt Accelerator G is commonly used when ambient temperatures are low and resins need an additional “kick” to cure efficiently. By accelerating gel times, it helps maintain productivity and reliability in marine, automotive, construction, and composite manufacturing applications.

This product is a 1% solution of cobalt soap dissolved in styrene, designed to promote faster gel times. When added to resins at 0.5%–2% concentration, it delivers a controlled boost to the curing process, ensuring consistent results even when working in low temperatures.

Follow correct ratios carefully (0.5% - 2%) for optimal results. Once Accelerator G has been mixed into the resin, the catalyst can then be added to complete the curing system.

  • Premium cobalt accelerator from Scott Bader
  • Boosts gel times in polyester resins, gelcoats & topcoats
  • Effective in cold climates where curing is naturally slower
  • Supplied as a 1% cobalt soap solution in styrene
  • Add at 0.5% - 2% concentration depending on conditions
  • Helps maintain reliable curing & consistent results
  • Usage note: add accelerator first, then add catalyst separately
  • Sizes available: 1kg or 4kg

To ensure safe and effective use, always add Accelerator G before the catalyst - never mix them together directly.
