Description

The Summer Catalyst Hardener is a high-quality organic peroxide (MEKP initiator) specially formulated for use in warm weather conditions where temperatures rise above 20°C. Unlike standard catalyst hardeners, this summer-grade version extends resin curing time, allowing you to work more comfortably in hot conditions and direct UV without the resin gelling too quickly.

The ideal choice for applying fibreglass flat roofing on hot summer days, Summer Catalyst Hardener gives installers greater control and flexibility during application. Beyond roofing, this product is also well suited for mould making, boat building, laminating, and casting projects, where an extended working time is required to ensure precision and quality.

The hardener is a clear, colourless liquid with a total active oxygen content of 8.8 - 9.0%, a density of 1.180 g/cm³ at 20°C, and a viscosity of 24 mPa.s at 20°C. It is typically used at a mixing ratio of 1 - 2% depending on conditions and project requirements.

  • Designed for hot weather: Ideal for use when temperatures exceed 20°C
  • Extended working time: Slower curing for greater control in warm conditions
  • Perfect for large projects: Especially effective for fibreglass flat roofs under direct sun
  • Versatile use: Suitable for mould making, boat building, laminating & casting
  • Reliable performance: Maintains consistency in resin curing during high-temperature work
  • Professional-grade formula: Clear, colourless liquid with stable chemical properties
  • Mixing ratio: Use at 1 - 2% depending on resin & conditions
  • Available sizes: 1kg or 5kg bottles

Technical Specifications:

  • Total Active Oxygen: 8.8–9.0%
  • Density (20°C): 1.180 g/cm³
  • Viscosity (20°C): 24 mPa.s

Important: A single MEKP initiator formulation cannot guarantee optimum performance across all resin systems. Always evaluate the summer catalyst in the specific resin you intend to use before committing to full-scale production.
